People everywhere continually seek ways to prolong a youthful appearance. Botox injections have typically been the most effective means. Snake venom face creams are a new instrument that have recently been introduced for this purpose.

Every time you smile, frown or laugh, your skin is stretched and wears. Nervousness and hypertension can lead to the appearance of additional lines. When we are young, skin rebounds quickly to it’s original shape. As we age, this ability decreases.

Scientists have mimicked the Waglerin 1 tri-peptide of the Malaysian tropidolaemus wagleri, Temple Viper, who’s bite acts to immobilize prey through paralysis of the nervous system. Marketed under the name Syn-ake, this is the main ingredient in age defying venom creams.

In diluted concentrations of three to five percent, the chemical produces a relaxation of the muscles when it comes into contact. This allows the skin to relax and reduces stretching and stress from repeated daily expressions that may result from hyper tension.

Naturally occurring amino acids in the peptide, block the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (mnAChR) neurotransmitters in the musculature system. By blocking these receptors, the ion canals stay closed off to sodium ion (Na+) uptake into the post-synaptic membrane and signal contractions of the muscle.

The 2006 Swiss Technology Award was given to the product soon after it’s invention by a Swiss pharmaceutical company. It has since been distributed to various cosmetic companies for introduction into their facial cream product lines. It is blended with additional ingredients as companies see fit and marketed accordingly.

While Botox has been the most effective cosmetic treatment for wrinkles and fine lines, these creams are thought to be a rival that offer as or more effective treatments without the need for injections. Overall, this serum offers a less invasive opportunity than Botox. A down side is the necessary daily use which sharply contrasts twice annual applications of the competition.

Some scientists have questioned the effectiveness of the cream. Human skin is designed to block and filter out external substances. To successfully reach the underlying musculature, the cream must penetrate not only the epidermis, but also the layer of subcutaneous fat to contact the muscle.

The creams are generally marketed by high end cosmetic companies at a premium price. Costs range from thirty to two hundred dollars per one to two ounce bottle. With regular daily applications, a typical bottle will last one to two months. The time line for noticeable effects is around twenty eight days and results only occur with regular use. This can make for an expensive regiment, so you’ll have ask yourself whether your skin is worth it.

For a safer alternative to Botox, consider snake venom face creams. For those who can afford it, the creme can be worth the price. The best way to decide if it’s right for you is to try it, but do so in consideration of any allergies you may have.
